Membership Bond:

The bond fee is $ 500.00. All Membership classes are required to purchase a bond as per the swimming association constitution. Each Bond holder is entitled to one vote per household for all general membership meetings or pool business. Bond Fee’s are fully refundable with proper notification to board as outlined in the by-laws.


Frequently asked questions

1) When are my payments due?
     Maintenance fees are due no later than April 29, 2010. Members who do not remit their maintenance fee by this date will be assessed a $25.00 late fee. All fees must be paid prior to the opening of the season in order to be admitted to the pool. Checks should be sent to:

2) When are the work weekends and how can I help?
      Work weekends are scheduled for April 24, May 1. Volunteers are needed for basic tasks such as: painting, clean-up work and simple landscaping, etc. We can also use the expertise of members that are "good with their hands" for such tasks as light carpentry and working on the mechanical systems, etc. Work weekends are actually necessary to limit expenses paid to outside contractors. This helps keep the yearly dues manageable for members.

3) What are some of the important dates for this coming season?

4) If my family is unable to return to the pool this year,
      what should I do?

      If you are planning on resigning your membership, the
      following should be done.


      A. Notify the board of your intentions in writing no later than
             March 15, 2010.
      B. Return your bond along with a written request for a bond
            refund.
      C. If you are no longer in possession of your bond, state so in
            your letter.

      Bond refunds will not be issued until the preceding steps have
been taken. If the board is not notified by March 15, you will be responsible for your 2010 dues. Bond refunds are made when a new family joins the pool. Bonds are paid out in the order of requests made and recorded on the out list.


5) What is the minimum age for my child to be at the pool
      without adult supervision?
      A member must be 12 years or older to be admitted to the pool without parental supervision. A family member under 12 years old may be admitted with a sibling of at least 15 years of age age older.


6) What is Laurelwood's policy on baby sitters?
      A. The baby sitter must be at least 15 years of age to have
           children under their care at the pool.

      B. Baby sitters will be exempt from the 5 visit rule as long as:
            Parent(s) are not present at the pool with the baby sitter and
            the baby sitter is registered with the pool in advance and the
            member family has signed a waiver giving the sitter the
            right to consent to emergency treatment.

Guest Policy and Fees

Laurelwood Members are welcome to bring guests to the swim club. Fees are $5.00 per guest, children under three; free. Please note that an individual guest

will only be admitted to the club maximum of 5 times, regardless of how many different members invite that individual.

Private Parties

All members are entitled to have private parties and invite guests to the pool. If a member has a party with 10 or more non-members attending, a 25.00 Party fee will be assessed as well as the normal guest fee per non-member guest.   Advanced reservation is required to be given to the manger 10 days prior to the event and no event can conflict with any other scheduled pool event.
